In the news today

Or more appropriately, last week - I'm sure some of this will be old news to you as I was out of the loop whilst on holidays >coughs< lying on the beach in Queensland >coughs<, so just ignore me and carry on.

Another Polo medal

Polo Ralph Lauren
will dress the US Olympic and Paralympic Teams for 2010 and 2012 games, following their collaboration in Beijing last year.

Both the official Opening Ceremony and Closing Ceremony Parade outfits will be provided, as well as a collection of village wear apparel and accessories.

"The Olympic Games are the greatest sporting event in the world and we are incredibly honoured to play a part and celebrate the achievements of American athletes," Ralph Lauren’s son, David Lauren, told Fashion Week Daily.

Red will be added to the 2008 colours of blue and white.

Farmer Joe's

Something about the crisp blue skies lately have been making me feel like... bush-walking. Horse-riding. Rustic boots and warm coats and a little bit of blush, like a pinch on the cheek. And a nice, big mug of hot chocolate.

It's that LA aesthetic 2

In Sydney we like the beach. Heck yeah, we basically live at the beach, so much so that it basically dictates our summer fashion. (Well within a radius of about half an hour's drive - any further and you're just looking for excuses to walk around naked.)

But in LA, they actually spend enough time AWAY from the beach to have this quirky, totally summer-inspired aesthetic that's as street-worthy as it is heat-worthy.

p.s. I think I've figured out where my current obsession with summer has come from - I keep turning my heater on and just leaving it there, so my room heats up to thirty degrees. Go figure.

It's that LA aesthetic

Okay, I mean, it's a bike. But it's cool. And you can't fault coolness.

Cherry lips and golden curls

Obsessed: siren lipstick with refined, luscious curls.

According to Harper's (US):

"For this look, it's ideal to have a smooth texture to start with," says celebrity stylist Danilo. To make even coarse or thick hair soft and easy to style, use a glossing conditioner after shampooing.

Next, blow out hair and give it a side part. "Then take the two-inch section of hair you want to curl and mist it with a volumizing spray or cream," says Danilo.

Curl the hair section by section with a one- or one-and-a-half-inch-barrel curling iron. "Hold the iron horizontally, and begin curling at about eye level," says Babaii.

Brush through the curls gently to create a wave. Then spritz with hair spray.

Supersize my love habit

Dangerous and edgy yet luscious and ladylike. Also so large they double as weapons. Who doesn't love multi-tasking jewellery?
